T-Mobile Announces New UMA/GAN Smartphone

 

On June 16, T-Mobile US added a new UMA/GAN smartphone to its roster -- Nokia's E73 Mode. It's a Symbian S60 device. According to Boy Genius Report, which first broke the news, it's "best thought of as an E72 with a facelift."

 

The E73 features a 2.4″QVGA display, full-QWERTY keypad (the thinnest available from T-Mobile), 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and 10.2Mbps HSDPA, but also free turn-by-turn navigation fromOvi Maps.

 

According to the Nokia press release, T-Mobile customers with Wi-Fi Calling will have a new phone option from which they can choose. The smartphone has long battery life, personal and corporate e-mail access, a full HTML Web browser with support for Adobe Flash, media player and more.

 

The Nokia E73 Mode will be available from T-Mobile on June 16th for $69.99 on a 2-year contract.
